AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT
A proud moment “shot” down
I’m age 9 or so, learning to read
Reading the newspaper was adult
I read a story about a war somewhere over seas.
A month or so later I read another story,
But saying the same thing?
The fighting still going on
I’m wondering, if adults are so smart
How come they can’t finish a war in a month?
For decades thereon
I refused to watch war movies.
Found Westerns to be the same ilk,
Too much shooting.
After the mayhem in Minnesota
And across the USA
A ray of light warms many
Monks Walking for Peace.
Makes no impression upon those most peace deficient.
Organically demonstrating what helps us
Hold our minds together, but sadly
Seems not to effect power mongers.
Enjoying power for power’s sake
Self-serving via threat of violence and death
Collateral damage their excuse
Not helping citizens trapped in their greed cycle.
Creating the sense that
Kindness is for chumps
Don’t trust your neighbors
How do we dig out of this quagmire?

An author recently wrote that the tipping-point in any change was 3%. That low.
There are more than 3% of us that want this madness to stop, except it seems that the tipping-point has either been bought, or our access to it has been revoked.
How exactly do we get out of this quagmire? A very important question. Not the same way we got in it — that never works.
